Templatic Overview
Think out of the box when it comes to WordPress themes and what you get is Templatic. This company was officially launched last December 10, 2009 but they had been in the business since March 2008 under the name Premium Themes. They later on changed their name to Templatic in 2009 because of the need to create an accurate branding for what they offer.
Templatic is based in Surat, India and is composed of 5 people with R. Bhavesh as their founder and administrator. Starting out with only 25 themes, Templatic continued to grow steadily and now have a wide array of awesome WordPress themes ranging from simple blogging themes to complete business and e-commerce integrated themes, making it possible to use WordPress as CMS.
Theme Functionality
Templatic offers themes for every niche plus they make it a point to release at least 2 new themes every month. What’s great about their themes is that all are built ready for advertising and other forms of website monetization. This is made possible through the theme control panel that comes with every WordPress theme that they release.
Another come-on in the functionality of the themes from Templatic is that each and every theme that they release is professionally designed and is specially coded to get you the most needed search engine exposure. This means that using their themes ensures more potential traffic to your website SEO-wise. This is good news for many small businesses who want to create a brand online.
However, it may look like their themes have every possible functionality, it is to our dismay that some of the functions doesn’t even work or work poorly. Their coding is hard to follow, let alone customization. If you want themes with sophisticate coding, we highly recommend Studiopress or Woothemes instead, to name a few.
Theme Graphic
With regards to graphics, after seeing the eye-catching and funky designs of Wozby, I find the graphics of Templatic a little bit on the dull side but then again their themes are focused on professional design. It may look a little plain but with their classic look you can never go wrong whether you cater to the young generation or the older ones.
Theme Pricing- base on July 2010 data
For a club membership of $299 a year, you get to enjoy the benefits of using unlimited theme licenses. You also get to enjoy unlimited access to all the Wordpress themes that Templatic offers as well as access to all the themes and updates that would be released during the duration of your membership. And on top of these, you are given access to the members’ only support forum.
Primothemes is actually cheaper with its $175 Premium Membership fee which allows you to download all the themes that they offer with unlimited licenses. However, with Primothemes you have to pay $25 extra per month to activate the premium membership while the $299 with Templatic already applies the whole year round. In the end, if you do the math, Templatic is cheaper when it comes to yearly membership.
Their single license theme starts at $65. Wobzy is cheaper as they only offer $50 per theme and Studiopress offers $59.95 per theme but here’s the catch: if you are able to catch the buy one theme get two free themes then you will definitely save a lot. This is an even better deal than the buy-one, take-one theme of Primothemes at $75.
Theme Support
Studiopress and Primothemes support their customers via forums while Wozby encourages their customers to communicate with them through the email form found on their website. With Templatic support, you can talk to a real, live person.
You can contact them and throw them a question by dialing +91 999 887 5851. They will take your inquiry from Mondays through Fridays, starting at 9 in the morning up to 6 in the evening (GMT +5:30). They also have forums where the founder himself is very active in interacting with members.
However, don’t be overwhelmed by different types of support offered by Templatic. Their support guys are not trained in addressing your theme issues. Sometimes it takes days to reply a simple question. For enquiries that touch on the theme structure and coding, it may never get resolved as they find it too troublesome to fix them. Indeed, they have many unsatisfied customers.
Theme License
Single License: this license allows you to use a theme on a single website.
Multiple License: this license allows you to use a theme on multiple websites.
Club membership: this license allows you to use all Templatic’s themes on multiple websites.

The themes have many bugs, but overall I think they are ok. However their support and billing is absolutely DISGUSTING. They kept charging my credit card, would not reply to emails that I sent and I notified them that my credit card company is investigating them for fraud and they still did not reply. Their response was to delete my support ticket, requesting a refund! AVOID! I also use Organic Themes for my designs and never ever had a problem with them, they actually reply to customers, plus have less bugs in their themes.
Beware Templatic ecommerce themes!
They do not integrate with Authorizenet and you will not be able to process credit cards. In addition to nonfunctional ecommerce themes, their technical support is ineffective. They are nice people, but if you want a working store from them you are out of luck.
I can speak as I have purchased themes from them, wasted countless hours and burned through a couple of thousand dollars in anticipation of having sites (urls, hosting, SSL Cert, a special authorizenet account).
Buyer beware!
I’ve recently set up a geo places test site. While its not the easiest thing in the world to manipulate I’m not too surprised with the crazy amount of functionality. Do to all the negative comments I tested a lot to make sure everything worked as should. Everything has worked worked as should! And what I couldn’t figure out (sort of a lot) they were very helpful and attentive to all my obsessive questions. My only qualm is that they don’t provide documentation before you buy. That could have saved all my newbie questions. That is as long as the documentation is up to snuff. Woothemes Cityguide is the only other theme that comes close to geo places theme. And when I say close it’s still a very far 2nd. As far as functionality is concerned at least.
Hi Eric, i was looking at buying GeoPlaces… but looking at the negatie comments, i am really cinsidering now.
The version of GeoPlaces u purchase has got many bugs?
totoleem @ hotmail.com
I have just given up on Templatic. I have been with them for one year and have yet to be able to use any theme even close to “out of the box”. I am disgusted. I have done nearly 100 wordpress sites in the last 18 months and I know a good theme when I see one. Templatic does not fit the bill. I have completely wasted $300 and countless hours dealing with their crappy coding and garbage support. I am truly upset. I’m not even going to ask for my refund, because I hope that they use my $300 to take a php class or two. Graphics are garbage, functionality is garbage, support is garbage…and because of that, the price is garbage. Below is an excerpt from the last forum support ticket that I will ever waste my time with on the Templatic Support Forum. My membership expires in a few weeks and after that I will never deal with them again. Their themes aren’t even worth me downloading the latest version in hopes that one day I will find a use for them. I’d rather punch myself in the face and nuts before messing with their crappy codework ever again.
Here is the excerpt, it will be in bold
This is the type of stuff that I’ve been saying for almost a year. I spend more with Templatic than any other theme club and not one single theme is fit to use out of the box. All your themes claim to be “ready out of the box”, yet all the ones that I have tried have had serious functionality problems. Out of 12 Templatic Themes that I have tried to work with, the only one that actually worked as advertised without any bugs or functionality issues was the Visiting Card Theme. I’ve built nearly 100 custom wordpress sites with other theme clubs and never had these kinds of issues. You guys come out with a really cool theme idea, but don’t finish it.
I signed up for Answers and GeoPlaces almost a year ago (11 1/2 months) and neither one of those is fit to use. I had to spend money on different themes for both of those projects. I bought this club for those two projects, and ended up losing my $300 that I spent with you. Then I found PlusOne and it seemed like a perfect fit for a project I’m working on for myself and I really thought that I was finally going to get my money’s worth out of Templatic….but in the end, all I’ve done is waste time here and lost money. Being a part of a developer’s club should help me make money, not lose money and waste valuable time that I could have used to complete a project or spend with my family.
….remember I’m the one that found the automobile theme code that was hidden in geo places….. I’m also the one that let you know that your “two field search bar” in Geo Places did nothing. It’s like you get 95% of a theme complete and then say “crap, that’s enough, people will buy it..who cares if it doesn’t work right”.
….I give up.
I hope that you don’t delete my comment, and I apologize for ranting, but when I saw your review, I couldn’t help but think that just maybe someone had to chime in and share their 12 months of experience with them. The sad thing is that they try to help in their forum, but when they can’t fix it, they want my FTP. I normally wouldn’t have a problem with letting them FTP into my site, but they can’t even get their standard themes right, I’m not letting them anywhere near my servers. I’m a member of 2 other clubs. woo and elegant. I need a third club for divirsity and I will be much more cautious from here on out because of the experience I have had. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the positive feedback comments (if not all of them) are from Templatic Employees.
Hey Guys
I am from the same country from where these templatic company is operating i.e. India…. after reading all comments on this website, this company is definitely drowning our beloved country’s name
Geo Places Review:
Loved their Geo Places Theme and it was awesome. Purchased it in US $$$$$ and now I am banging my head against the wall
Wanted to make a small website for various Hotels and Restaurants here at Hyderabad, but the theme is complete crap because there are lots of bugs and the Google Maps API always gives errors/no results
Their support tries to help, but their help is complete crap and full of non sense/bullshit suggestions. Even I gave them my Admin Username and Password, but they were unable to fix the issues I was experiencing
If they are unable to help/fix issues, don’t expect any replies from them. They are complete unprofessional human beings
Also, one of mine friend purchased Articles Directory Theme using my Affiliate Link and some Bhavesh guy don’t want to pay my 30% affiliate commission to me
He says my sales is Invalid and I used my own affiliate link to purchase the theme. Bhavesh thinks he’s GOD, but believe me one day or the other you will mess with some wrong person OR someone is already preparing to kick Templatic out of Business – MIND THIS
Anyways, I have dropped the idea of website as I am not getting any good theme (if someone can suggest, please help), wasted bucks on domain and hosting and all this is due to Templatic Bogus and Bullshit Themes. I tested the Crap Geo Places theme using Test Account and it was awesome. Got domain + hosting + bought the theme, but as soon as I installed it, plethora of problems followed and still they are unable to fix specific problems
I will recommend NOT to buy themes from Templatic….. every version of Geo Places is CRAP and full of bugs and errors
Thanks
Thank you for posting this. I was about to purchase the Templatic membership as I love most of the designs and they are just what I need. However reading all the response here, I think I’d rather not put myself in a spot.
Have a great day!
I don’t have much to say but I would make all buyers aware that their coding is too complex. Too many useless code in files, too many bugs to clear out before launching the site, and too many hassles.
I really won’t recommend their themes to my clients or to anyone. Stay away from templatic themes, and I am just being honest here. Their support is also next to none. So all the best if you are thinking to buy themes from them.
Hi all
I purchased Geo Places theme from Templatic and these Templatic Guys sucks at Support and coding. I am sure, they are just copy pasting ideas and code from other themes
We don’t get from Templatic Themes for what we paid. Everything looks AWESOME in the THEME DEMO PAGE, the real problem starts once you install their theme and start working on it.
Their support guys and their coding sucks to core
WARNING: Just stay away from this shitty company and its shitty products
Thanks
Rahul
I’ve been waiting for GEO PLACES to start working as advertised for 12 months now. I wasted $300 dollars…and wasted probably over 100 hours dealing with their bullshit on that project alone. I almost lost the client. It’s ridiculous.
I have purchased a theme from Templatic and this is my experience of using the theme and dealing with their support team.
Pros
1. Themes offers lots of functionality
2. Good backed administrator area to update the features
3. Good value for money for the features you get in the word press theme
Cons
1. The Word press theme i purchase was not SEO ready, they hard code the URLs into the theme for specific functions included within the theme so you can not change them the URLs, meta title or description
2. I have found some bugs in the word press theme i purchased from Templatic, i reported the bugs to the support team and they have done nothing to fix them, support ticket goes unanswered.
3. Biggest issue with Templatic is the support, its not good. You don’t expect the support team to deal with customization requests but what you do expect is support for the word press theme you have purchased. If you report a bug in the theme or need some help with the setting up the theme they should help you. They do not reply to tickets and when they do reply to the ticket they just drag it out and keep you waiting for days. I opened a support ticket and got a reply to say they are investigating the issue, I asked them again for a update after waiting for 3 days and again they just told me support are investigating.
The end result was i removed the theme and purchased another theme from a different club who gave me the support i needed.
To keep this post updated.
I was going to buy one of the e-commerce templates from Templatic, but i always read reviews when buying from someone, then found this post with all its complaints. I tested out their support with submitting two tickets. Made a really simple sales and support question and it took me more then 7 hours to get a reply.
I think Templatic could atleast make an effort to give a first time potensial customers an answer within an hour, or even less! They state there are 7 people working on support, something i find strange when it takes so many hours to get a reply for my ticket.
After reading all these replies im not going to purchase any themes from them. I must ad tho, that i have not tested their templates, only their support, and since im not a webdeveloper in any way support is a main factor to me.
More then 7 hours for a sales question, thats not good enough, not with 7 supporters working. My point of view anyways.
Good for you….you made a very wise decision
I wonder if We Are Being Fair to Templatic
I really don’t know the answer to this question I am asking yet, but I am willing to try out the templatic full package to find out if that’s what it will take.
I have already purchased the Store theme and I installed and customized with very minimal but normal CMS customization issues. I can relate to the going back and forth to try to explain the problem through their HelpDesk but eventually problem was solved and I am very happy with it. I only paid $65 for this theme and undercharged the client at $1000 because she is also helping me out with my project. In the future for a site like that, i plan to charge at least $2500 and it only took me a Saturday and a Sunday(2 days) to customize it. In the future I could finish a site a day if I wanted.
Even with the price I charged, it has more than paid for the cost and I am using part of the money to buy the club package. I really find it difficult to see where the loss will be if a few templates in the pack give me a headache.
I am actually reading the numerous complaints for the first time because I am about to buy the club pack and was curious to see what people were saying. I will be sure to come back and tell my story whether it turns out good or bad.
In the meantime, I have the following comments to make though;
1. I see most of the bad issues were from 2010; that being said, templatic has gone as far as providing a testing interface for prospective customers. I think that should say something and we should give them another chance.
2. I have reason to suspect that almost no one is taking the necessary precautions every good developer should be taking; Backing Up Files Frequently.
3. It’s my rule not to touch code unless I am sure what I am doing, so everyone can learn from that.
4. Finally, a suggestion for Templatic; In place of where your main page says View our themes, you may want to consider making it say Test our themes or in essence, make sure the Testing feature jumps out at people till your reputation is at least cleared up.
I’ve only used one Templatic theme and that’s Emporium. It’s not bang up to date with the latest WordPress features, but I was able to build in what I needed.
The shopping cart works effectively, at least on a relatively simple website which has not more than a few dozen products.
The design is a bit plain but that’s not necessarily a bad thing on a shopping site. The product images are after all the main focus.
I found it easy to customise the CSS.
No idea about support, I didn’t encounter any problems that required help.
I’d consider using one of their themes again, but would be more likely to recommend one from StudioPress or Elegant.
Hi Piotr!
I suggest you at least test out the new eCom framework, it might change your mind about our e-Commerce themes. I hope you theme works fine after the clean install…
Kind regards
Vedran
Hi,
I was very happy when I purchased Templatic membership and I really like their interesting themes.
Themes functionality is good and I do not mind graphics because I can change it if i need.
I used so far two themes and one is working with no problems, however the RealEstate theme …. turned my last week and a half into hell. Initially, I was happy with it and then problems started piling up. Once we managed to patch one problem, the next one is popping up. I contacted support and I got the answer in a reasonable time but…..the most helpful answer was to do a clean install. I tried everything I could, to fix it however after loosing 1 week of time I installed a clean version of RealEstate theme and uploading all data again.
I am considering using some simple themes from Templatic again but I could not imagine to risk installing RealEstate or any other E-Commerce theme for any of my customers.
Hi Piotr,
I am in the same position as you in having purchased the Real Estate theme, and loved it at first, but support has been vague to non-exsistant. If you would like to communicate with me for mutual support on this theme please feel free to contact me…lk3204@gmail dot com.
Thanks
Hi Stan!
Since I’m working for Templatic I can’t be totally objective in this matter
but perhaps I can be of some use. If you’re interested in RealEstate you can always test it at http://test.templatic.com. It’s totally free. After you test the site you’ll now first hand whether to buy the theme or not.
If there is anything I can do for you, you can always email on vedran@templatic.com
Kind regards
Vedran
I was considering their Private Lawyer theme, for a friend who is starting his own law practice. I’m not a web designer, so I thought this theme would be a good idea. I created a test site (trial) on templatics site, and it was buggy.
I need to know where I can purchase a premium Law Firm type theme from? Any ideas please?!
Hello, I am looking for a real estate portal theme. So far, I only manage to find the one from Templatic that matches what I need. The others don’t allow registration of new agents. My only concern with Templatic is with all the bad reviews about the company, and I’m hesitant to buy from them.
Does anyone know of other theme that offers similar functionality as the real estate portal theme from Templatic? Thank you.
Hello
I purchased some themes from Templatic and their support is awful. Also the theme files have lots of bugs and it takes whole lot of time to get them fixed.
The support guys are newbies and it takes many days to get a particular ticket resolved, if the ticket is related to theme functionality or bugs
Also, one of mine friend purchased a Templatic Theme using my affiliate link and just wanted to tell you all the Bhavesh guy of Templatic doesn’t pay any type of affiliate commission. I opened 2-3 tickets with them regarding my affiliate commission, 2 of them gone unanswered and 1 of them came with a simple statement: “The affiliate sale from your link is bogus”
Anyways I have started using WOO Themes and they are awesome in every aspect
REMAIN AWAY FROM TEMPLATIC, AS THEY ARE AWFUL IN EVERY WAY. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED BUCKS OR SPEND THEM WITH ANY REALLY GOOD AND PROFESSIONAL THEME DEVELOPER LIKE WOO THEMES ETC.
Hey Stacey
Support is really fast when it comes to simple HTML and CSS changes but when it comes to bug fixed of course it last a little longer. Bug fixes are forwarded to the coding team…
Regarding the affiliate problem…I don’t know any specifics so I can’t give you a real answer. If you have any proof regarding the while situation you can contact me on vedran@templatic.com. I’m not promising anything, but I will take a closer look into it.
Kind regards
Vedran
Yeah!
Vedran, don’t try to defend Templatic, as it’s a terrible company with terrible products
I think you are their new online/community manager, sitting in some other country and enjoying monthly bucks which Bhavesh had to pay to many of Templatic affiliates
You said BUG FIXES TAKES A LITTLE LONGER! – This LITTLE LONGER duration is actually 1-2 weeks
I have stopped using BUGGY Templatic Themes and I don’t care for that tiny affiliate income, which I never received
FRIENDS PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM TEMPLATIC THEMES, AS THEY ONLY LOOKS GOOD TO EYES – PURCHASE THEM and YOU WILL REGRET LATER – BELIEVE ME
WOO THEMES, THESIS THEMES and STUDIO PRESS Rocks in every aspect.
or Elegant Themes….or App Themes……hell anyone BUT Templatic is a Great Choice
On the surface Templatic’s themes look very “slick” with lots of functionality, themes that could save you a lot of time.
In reality every theme I have looked at is built on the same framework and often is missing important pieces of functionality such as paypal pro payments or other things you might assume were there.
Because they do not offer refunds it is very very important to thoroughly review the themes you are thinking of purchasing before you buy it and know exactly what your requirements are. Don’t count on them upgrading as Templatic tends to be pushing out new themes all the time instead of adding features to older themes.
If I were you I would only buy one theme and not think you’re going to save a lot of money by buying the suite.
Hi there!
Yes, our themes are similarly built because, well, they are similar. A lot of them are store themes so it’s kinda logical for them to be similar. That helps developers streamline the experience. If you’re used to working with one theme, you’ll feel just as great using another.
I can’t agree with “Don’t count on them upgrading” because we make a lot of changes to our themes and new versions are always popping out
We encourage ALL of our potential customers to test out the themes. You can do it at http://test.templatic.com.
Kind regards
Vedran
Hello Vedran, I tested the theme is just 5 minutes “Video” (free theme), and also does not work on your platform widget popular posts! Why!?
I agree with the above criticisms. What is even more frustrating is the support’s complete lack of knowledge of their own themes. It takes forever of going back and fourth and communicating in pigeon English to just be able to explain that I’m talking about CLAIMED functionality of their themes that does not perform anywhere close to what it should. They keep on saying that the theme is not supposed to do what it claims to do like they have never seen it in Wordpress admin let alone the php/css backend. When I finally manage to persuade them that it does claim this or that essential functionality that simply doesn’t work, they send me to find a developer to fix it.
I’m no novice is Wordpress, php or CSS but their obnoxiously buggy and exceedingly messy codes are a real challenge to fix.
I recently purchased the Answers theme from Templatic to use as a prototype for a site I’m working on, figuring it would give me a good start and would just require a few modifications to get it to work the way I wanted. No such luck.
The code is bloated to the point of making it virtually uneditable, aside from the minor changes you can make through the control panel. The theme contains over 540 files in 69 folders, including 104 (!) individual php files, 52 javascript files and 35 css files. Need to edit anything in the code or css? Good luck. It’s like a bomb went off in an HTML editor spewing code everywhere.
If you just want something that works “out of the box” and have no intentions of doing any serious modification, then these themes are fine, but if you’re a designer or developer that wants to take existing Templatic themes and build upon them and modify them, don’t waste your time or your money because you will spend weeks trying to figure out what the heck they were doing when they developed their themes. In 16+ years of web design & development, I’ve never come across anything written as confusingly and poorly as this.
After reading the above comments, I’m definitely going to be looking elsewhere for a WP classified theme or plugin. Anyone have any suggestions ??
PS Some of the above comments that praised the product were clearly injected by employees or those that in some way have ties to the company. You’re not fooling anyone.
Hi Kanon
The comments above were NOT from Templatic employees. I’m the only Templatic staff member in this thread.
Before you make your final decision please at least test our themes over at htttp://test.templatic.com. Who knows, maybe we manage to change your mind
Kind regards
Vedran
Somebody knows why the Real Estate Templatic Theme don’t send message? I mean, I’m tester a template but I found that i can’t send message to the “send to friend” “Schedule a Showing” and “Email This Agent”.
Do you know if need i to activate some option or the template has a bug?
Thank you very much.
Templatic Review
Straight to the point: Templatic offer “okay” templates, but really poor theme support. I’m really not too happy with them and fell for their trap of “excellent support.” I posted for help almost 1 month ago and still haven’t gotten a response. In fact, they just closed my ticket. They said that they would give me a refund, however, they haven’t. The company is run by some person called Bhavesh, and for some reason I have a feeling it’s just him running things. Beware, don’t use this company because they really don’t care about paying customers.
Hi Somoso!
I’m really sorry you had such terrible experience with our support. If you could provide the ticket number I could try to see what happened – why weren’t you contacted.
Yes, the company is run by Bhavesh Radadiya but he’s not the only one involved. 13 people are currently working for Templatic, 7 of those are providing support.
We care a great deal about our customers and whether they are satisfied or not. You can read more about our refund policy at http://templatic.com/terms-of-use (press CTRL + F and type “refund” to find the desired paragraph)
Kind regards
Vedran
Few theme have bugs.
Support left company since long time (with our money). No help, no bug correction, …
There are good idea on these themes but no function correctly
Hi Xav
Bugs get corrected all the time and new versions of themes get released frequently. If you’re still our subscriber please go to the members area, there is a good chance that your theme was updated.
Kind regards
Vedran
I have been very pleased with Templatic.
YES – my site has a few bugs, most have been worked out, and some I had to do some creative thinking.
CUSTOMER SERVICE – has always been personable, and helped me as long as it took, sometimes I needed to submit a new ticket and ask my question in a different way, but they have always been there to answer my question.
PRICING – When they have a discount on a theme it is a good deal, otherwise I think that other theme sites mentioned in this review have the same or better products that you can use for half the price.
GRAPHICS – I am glad that the templates are plain, in business that’s all I need. Plus I am glad that most themes especially the commerce ones don’t look like a Blog. Templatic has a simple interface that allows you to plug in a few pictures in the right places and be done.
OVERALL – If Templatic had there individual themes for 25% less and there membership was 50% less and they had no monthly fee then I would be content, because I have made my money back on my purchase.
If you decide to get Templatic I hope you make back the money you invest with them.
Hi Les
I’m glad you had a good experience with Templatic and I’m extremely grateful you shared it here with others. CMS themes are A LOT harder to create than regular blog ones – therefore the higher cost.
Again, thank you! If there is anything I could do for you, don’t hesitate to contact me at vedran@templatic.com
Kind regards,
Vedran
Good on you Iskandar! A few months ago I also asked my money back for a theme I bought from them and they were fast as lightning with reimbursing, that’s probably the only thing the boyz over at Templatic are good at, because the rest is a complete mess!
The themes I have tried are the ecommerce framework which sucks beyond imagination and I use their GeoPlaces theme for another project of mine. Although it has been updated a few times now, I have only tried the first update, which completely messed up my entire site, so now I am just using their first version and adapted it to my wishes without being bothered with their crappy updates.
Although their themes do offer originality, as others have already said the execution of it is beyond crap! Not only are code and functions from other themes they have developed mixed and intertwined in new themes, their spelling mistakes in classes are just plain stupid and highly irritating.
Say that I use one of their themes to develop a website for one of my clients, how do Templatic’s spelling mistakes reflect on me?
Their “helpdesk” is not equipped with people that have the ability to listen and/or understand English as it always takes more than a few days (and replies back and forth) to get to the core of an issue.
And even if you do get to the core of an issue, that most likely has to do with their coding crap, they are unwilling to even point out where you can start to adjust the code to make it behave the way you want it to and it (hopefully) was originally intended to.
I am sure that Bhavesh Radadiya all means well, but he promises too much and offers too little. Many people tend to forget that we’re talking premium themes here! The mess Templatic makes of their themes is unacceptable and potential buyers should be warned!
Piet,
If more people fight back for their money, I believe Templatic will eventually takes us seriously.
As for my paypal dispute, here’s what happened. I sent a message to them via paypal. Waited for 20 days for a respond. No reply. Escalate to dispute, and waited for paypal to contact them. Again, no one from Templatic bothered to reply.
Today paypal sent me an email. I won.
Hi Piet!
Yes, GeoPlaces was released with a number of bugs but most of them have been cleared. Our new themes go through rigorous testing before they are released so stuff like that doesn’t happen again.
As far as the language barrier goes. Yes, English is a second language to most of as at Templatic. Only one member (Russell) is from the US. That said, I can’t agree with what you’re saying about support not understanding English. I’d be silly to say we are on the same level as a native speaker, but I don’t think it’s crippling us in any way.
If you’d like to talk about this in greater detail please send me an email: vedran@templatic.com
Kind regards
Vedran
Vedran, you DO realise that replying to a comment I made 6 months ago (in my case and in other people’s cases even up to a year ago) is not really going to help, now is it?
It seems that you have taken over from that whooz (sorry forgot his name after such a long time), good for you!
But don’t count on my support anymore, ever!
If I could make a suggestion to you: change the name of your company, because the name Templatic will become your anchor!
Sorry, just noticed your reply.
I agree, the comments won’t help you guys, but they might help new readers see both sides of the story. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll never deny something (bad) that happened, but I also believe that people deserve our say in all of this.
Again, sorry for the late comment
Support? What support?
I like the fact that their themes are not blogs — but more like fully functional CMS. But believe me, they are riddled with bugs and you will spend time scratching your head trying to fix them.
Underneath the theme, the coding is messy and the codes are recycled from one them to another. You’ll see that the codes and functions from the real estate being used for answers theme etc. So, it’s hard to change stuff when the functions comes with weird names that are not supposed to be there.
Anyway, I just bough the Automobile theme from them and found that it is littered with bugs. I sent questions asking for help in the forum. Nothing happens, for days. Yes, their support policy states that they’ll respond within 12-24 hours. But maybe they are living in another time tunnel.
I have waited for support. Even a sentence acknowledging the problem is sufficient. But nothing. Silent.
If I can give them -5 stars for support, I would.
I’ve sent a paypal dispute. I hope others will join me too.
Hi Iskandar!
I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with our support. Could you please provide the ticket number that wasn’t answered? Maybe I could find why no one responded.
If you have any comments/questions for me, please email me: vedran@templatic.com
Kind regards,
Vedran
When it comes to usability and variety, Templatic are top rated. I love that they have so many kinds of themes to offer that caters to your every preference and need.
My business is in great need of advertising and Templatic offers themes that are always ready for advertising. What’s more with the themes being specially coded for being in the top search engine listings, it’s easy to increase traffic to my website.
you’re obviously defending a fellow country man!
Hi Rupnarayan
I just wanted to say thank you for your support. We really appreciate it!
Kind regards,
Vedran
This is probably one of the worst companies out there!
The website and some of their themes look really nice. But that’s it. Their website was down on several occasion this last week. And the functions behind their templates are badly implemented and released without proper testing. In other words, some functions do not work, or work poorly.
You end up spending a lot of time to track down faults, instead of using the time to build up your website.
I don’t recommend Templatic and their templates to anyone.
Hi Madison
First off, I’m sorry you had such bad experience with Templatic. We made some mistakes in the past, that’s true, but we cleared a great deal of problems that plagued our themes. Templatic is online almost all the time. We can’t guarantee 100% uptime, but you’ll rarely see us offline.
If there is anything I can do, please let me know: vedran@templatic.com
Kind regards,
Vedran
HORRIBLE customer service. Their “Store” theme is full of bugs, and not very flexible. If you want to spend a pile of money for the privilege of messing around with PHP and getting a headache, just to make the Store theme work, then go with Templatic. Otherwise avoid!
I still have not found a well-supported WP e-commerce theme that I feel I can trust. I am considering ShopperPress, but after my awful experience with Templatic, I am skeptical of everyone!
Anyone have suggestions for a Templatic alternative?
Hi David
I just wanted to tell you that we’ve made great strides to improve support for our themes. Most tickets are answered within a couple of hours, 24h at most. If you’re end up waiting longer (more then 24h), that’s because your problem is being forwarded to the coding team.
We cleared out most of the bugs from our themes and you should know that new ones are thoroughly tested before releasing.
I’m very sorry we didn’t meat your expectations. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. You can contact me on vedran@templatic.com.
Kind regards
Vedran
The support at Templatic is horrible and I would not recommender their themes to anyone. You need support for the themes since they are quite “buggy”. The problem is that it takes between 1 and 3 weeks for the support to answer.
I totally agree
Four open tickets on one simple theme. Three of my tickets are put on hold, whatever that means.
This is one of the buggiest theme I have come across. The coding is ugly, and doesn’t seem to have been tested at all.
I have a strong feeling that some of the comments above have been written by people connected to Templatic.
So overall, you’d be better of getting your theme from somewhere else.
Hi Ulf!
Can you please give me the number of the ticket(s) in question – I’ll check what went down
The comments above weren’t written by Templatic; most people don’t have problems using our themes. I however am a Templatic employee.
I would really like to clear the air and help anyway I can. If you want, you can always contact me on vedran@templatic.com
Kind regards
I don’t know where you got all these people to comment nicely about Templatic, have you seen their theme graphics?
Whatever! They’re dull, lifeless and boring! Unless maybe you’re in the business of not having any customers, then I highly recommend Templatic’s themes for you!
Hi Russel!
You know what they say: “Beauty is in the eye of the observer”. I personally don’t see what is the fuss around Angelina Jolie, always found J. Aniston more attractive. A lot of people think I’m crazy when I say that
A lot of our themes are CMS themes so we don’t have as much freedom when it comes to looks. But like I said before, we (mankind) just can’t be objective when it comes to design.
You should check out our new themes, who knows, maybe they change your mind.

I’m thrilled that a wp templates of this quality finally came along in the guise of Templatic. I love their unique designs, their ideas are definitely out of the box!
My year long developer license is approaching an end, and I’m seriously doubting whether I’ll renew it. My primary fault is the serious buggy-ness with the coding.
Though the themes express great originality and are wonderful ideas, the coding and development of the themes (even after updates and tweaks) is so buggy that any site I’ve tried to build with a Templatic theme has turned into a serious migraine for me and my development team.
When the Templatic group begins offering sites that are carefully coded (ok, a few minor coding issues will always be there even with other top notch themes), then I might come back. For me, WPRemix & Templatic go hand in hand …
Hi AJ
I think you’ll be happy to know that we release our themes much more carefully. Also, if a bug is found, it’s dealt with immediately. A lot has changed (improved) since you posted this message. If you were happy with our themes before, you’ll be jumping with joy now
Kind regards
Vedran
“EXPERT CODING”
Two thumbs up to their excellent coding! Because of this, you don’t have to worry about changing the code every time you have an update on your site, plus it’s highly search engine optimized, ideal for small businesses!
I have many blog sites to maintain and I’ve been using themes from many providers.
With that said, nothing can measure up to the support that Templatic has for their customers.
You not only can talk to someone through forum or email, you can speak to them on the phone!
Support is of poor quality for a premium theme producer, do a google search for them or look on wordpress.org
I asked before I bought about how they were dealing with the criticism, they reassured me but still a ticketing system that takes far too long to get a result.
Hi adam!
I’m sorry you had a bad experience with Templatic support, but you should know that a lot has changed. Currently over 50% of all Templatic employees work on support and we introduced a new support forum (to go along with the ticket system).
We know we made some mistakes in the past and we’re working heavily to make everything right. If you want to talk about this in some more detail, you can always send me an email: vedran@templatic.com
Kind regards,
Vedran
“perfect for e-commerce sites”
i prefer templatic over the others because they are perfect for e-commerce sites such as mine. i’m also happy about the fact that they are consistent in releasing new themes each month with different variety.
“Customer Support Is Excellent!”
I’m new to wordpress and the Templatic support staff was very helpful. Whenever I have any questions, I can post them on the forum.
I can also email questions that I’m ashamed of putting on the forum. When I needed help immediately, I called them.
I thank the heavens that there are many companies for Wordpress themes so I don’t have to be stuck with a substandard theme like that which you get from Templatic. When it comes to graphics and maybe even pricing, themes developed by Templatic still have a lot of room for improvement. Surely, if you see high quality graphics that other theme providers have to offer, you’ll be going for their themes and not Templatic’s. If you’re in search for a reasonably priced theme like I was, there are cheaper themes like the ones from Primothemes.
I’m sorry but I don’t agree with Joshua at all! Why are you so negative? What theme did you get anyway? I have a club membership and I love how it lets me use all of Templatic’s themes on various websites.
Hi, I think you are an expert of Templatic. Could you help me with this:
—-
Somebody knows why the Real Estate Templatic Theme don’t send message? I mean, I’m tester a template but I found that i can’t send message to the “send to friend” “Schedule a Showing” and “Email This Agent”.
Do you know if need i to activate some option or the template has a bug?
Thank you very much.

Thank you,
Hi Doug!
I just wanted to say thank you for your support. All of us at templatic are really grateful.
Kind regards
Vedran
