Press75 Overview

Among the numerous providers of premium WordPress themes, Press75 is one of the popularly known providers of efficient, clean, and unique themes that are user friendly with excellent content management options. Consequently, we shall be conducting a Press75
review in order to fully assess if this provider can offer you the perfect WordPress theme that is well suited to your website.

To start the review on Press75 we shall be checking on the people behind this company. Press75 is mainly owned by one person; and that is Jason Schuller. It was founded in June 2008 after delivering numerous effective WordPress solutions to various customers for quite some time.

Theme Functionality

As of July 2010, Press75 has around 17 unique premium WordPress themes to offer to its prospects and clients. And they continue to develop and release one new theme every month in order to keep newer themes abreast with the current WordPress release and updates.

This is one excellent feature because you are assured that you will be able to get monthly updates and release. On the negative side, at this point in time you still have limited selections. But this will eventually build up over time as new unique WordPress themes will be released on
a monthly basis.

One good aspect about the WordPress themes of Press75 is that their usability and functionality are generally excellent, having various key customization options and superb content management system that allows you to get your site up and live online within just few
minutes. Additionally, the customization option allows you to create your own logo, place ads at your preferred location, and add sidebars and other widgets as you please.

Moreover, every distinctly developed theme fully meets the basic SEO standards. On the negative side, the themes are not equipped with advanced SEO features. But you can always add these features using one of the WordPress SEO plug-ins which you can download and add to your site.

Theme Graphics

Jason has a team of graphic artists to back him up in the theme design. Press75‘s themes typically use gray or neutral tones for a reason which is the fact that neutral tones apply to the majority. And it proves that the proper use of this color in the background as well as the fonts can be professional-looking.

Theme Pricing – base on July 2010 data

Theme pricing is one of the important parts of the selection process. The price of each Press75 premium WordPress theme is $75 and it is considered quite expensive as compared to themes offered by other providers. However, they are offering excellent deals to make the themes more affordable for you.

One of the deals being offered by Press75.com is that when you buy one theme at $75, your next purchase is tremendously discounted at $25 only. This makes every theme valued at only $50, which is very affordable.

Another excellent yet similar deal is when you buy 2 themes at $75 each, you get one extra theme free of charge. In other words each of the three themes are still valued at $50 each.

At only $50 a piece for two or more theme purchase is a good bargain for a premium WordPress theme that includes high resolution graphics and excellent quality pictures to further enhance your website.

You may also upgrade to its premium package wherein you can get every theme of Press75, including its future releases, at only $275 which comes along with lifetime support. This is much more economical especially to those who have numerous websites since you can use the theme as many times as you want.

Hence, if you are looking for economical yet good quality premium themes for your WordPress website then we highly recommends Press75 mainly for its affordability, quality, and usability.

Theme Support

Excellent customer support is one aspect that you should check when selecting for the best provider of WordPress themes. Press75 has a dedicated support staff, including Jason himself, to assist you if you encounter problems and needs further assistance.

Support is generally given via the support forum and support representatives usually check the forum at least twice per day to ensure questions are answered the soonest possible.

Theme License

Honestly, I’ll never buy another Press75 theme ever again.

I bought the Acquisto theme back in 2011, when it was released, to use in conjunction with the Cart66 plugin (another company I will never buy from again). I built a huge store with 500+ products and took it live.

In 2012, a year later, all support for the Acquisto theme stopped and no more updates were released. The theme started having some major issues, so I tried to find the support forum for the Acquisto theme. Press75 had deleted the forum specific for the theme and left it’s previous buyers out in the cold. I couldn’t even accept orders!

I thought this was unacceptable so I commented in the general forums about my issues. The response I received was that they no longer were providing support for the theme, so I was fresh out of luck. This is a year after the theme was released! Their suggestion? That I buy one of their new themes that worked with a different eCommerce plugin. I mean, they really wanted to me start from scratch all over again!

I’m in the process now of moving everything over to a new site running on WooCommerce. At least they have a good track record.

I’m very happy with both the product and service that I have received. Any questions are answered promptly.

It is great value for the money!

I echo the sentiments shared here. I got personal replies for questions I had by Jason. Not going to promise anyone this will happen to them, but customer support is top notch.

With only 27 themes to offer, you can be sure you’re getting short changed with Press75 even if they offer discounts for their themes. I got a bunch of themes for a fraction of the price from another company. Now that’s what I call value for your money.

themes look nice, but they don’t all function correctly and many are outdated. Don’t try to get support after your 2 months are included (if you purchase the essentials package) he’ll only shoot you down. I have a lot of experience with WordPress and still couldn’t find a fix for his Simple Post Thumbnail plugin. Now the theme we purchased is pretty much worthless. Also, had to do a decent amount of css customizing myself for the menus in order for it to look right.

For a limited time, you get “support” (access to the user forums), which they do monitor well, but after that time you are SOL; and all you have is a basic PDF explaining the WP interface. I don’t recommend Press75 for this reason.

Jason is so busy, he is always behind on everything, so don’t expect a resolution to bugs. “I plan to fix it in the next update.” …which never happens.

They do not let you see the forum, because that is where you can download the theme updates from, and code is posted there… the support forum is the best thing about press75, every time I have a problem, I go to see if someone else did, and they always have 99% of the time, and to be honest, as I have my own web design company, with multiple websites and I use the premium press75 package, I run into problems with the themes ALL the time, so that is great.

The themes are especially great for video websites, social websites, but not too great for portfolio or personal websites in my opinion, also if your a newbie, you might find that you get stuck, but theres always the forums, and your questions get responded to, quickly.

Another thing with the themes is that if your a mid-advanced user and want to tweak the themes or add stuff, it is tricky too, and a few features that should just be mandatory, aren’t and it seems won’t be, such as, if I recall, the vidley theme, the thumbnails on the main page, can only link to categories, not individual posts, which is crazy, an advanced coder could fix this, but I can’t!

In all I think press75 is a good deal, when I use it sometimes, I often think “isn’t there something better than this??”, and I go and look, spend hours browsing woothemes, theme forest and elegant themes, and there just isn’t. I always end up back with press75.

I would recommend press75 to mostly video people, photographers, artists, all with lots of content.
I would not recommend them to bloggers, or adverty people.
It is very good if you want your wordpress to look like a website and not a blog.

The positive comments come right after negative ones don’t they? Look at the names of the posters. Give me a break not one of them are real, it’s P75 employees or a PR reputation management firm. One [probably real] commenter says the themes are too dark. Poof a coupla posts later there is “Carlton Blaschke” saying “I wanted something really dark”. And “Willis Montas” saying they love the neutral specifically. Balogna. Google those dudes, or search facebook or linkedin. No such person exists. Except in this forum.

I think a company that does not let you see their forums – not participate but at least see the level of activity – is sketchy at best.

The templates provided by Press75 suit me and my business just fine in that their graphics are those which move around neutral tones like grays, blacks and browns. Together with giving a professional look to my website, the theme from Press75 makes it easy for my customers to stay longer on my page reading on various things and browsing through the products I have for sale. With graphics and color that’s not so bright and vivid, a potential customer can focus on the purchase at hand and not be distracted.

“The darkest theme in the bunch”

Press 75 got me going with the TV.Elements theme.  I wanted something really dark that could still highlight the videos I post and here it was.  The look of cinema right on my computer screen!

With no other vibrant color there, viewers are hypnotized.

    “Video Elements rock!”

I have a video blog and I have tried numerous themes from other developers before and they all turned out to be a pain, but their Video Elements theme rocks! Now I can easily manage my videos.

I see their themes as really great tools for my site, more than just good designs.

    “Too heavy to look at!”

I’m not really a fan of minimalism, but it looks like Press75 is overcompensating for a shortage.

Their themes are all very dark and are very generic, too heavy on the eyes!

    “Perfect For My Video Site!”

I am extremely happy about Press75’s many different WP themes which I believe are well suited for any website or blog including mine and that’s why I tried them out in the first place.

Since I’ve been with them for the last two months, I’ve tried two of their themes which I both love in their own little ways. Since I incorporate a lot of videos on my blog site, I wanted to try their Video Elements theme first so I did and it was great!

I love how I can incorporate much video whether at the top or the sides of the page since I’m very keen when it comes to these small details.

After a month I tried to switch to Work Place to realign my blog’s identity into a more professionally styled blog and it worked like magic! I still have a lot of videos by the way.

I bought a template from Press75 and I thought it was awesome at the time. Then I found themeforest.com and I realized how much I paid for the P75 one. I mean, themeforest has much better ones for like $30 bucks!

    “LOVE PRESS75 OPTIONS PAGE… it’s so easy!”

The themes I have from Press75 are by far the most excellent in functionality.

I’m so happy with their themes. I give them two thumbs up for having WP press theme options that are user-friendly and easy to customize with the various options and the content management system feature.

I’m sorry but I’m just not a fan of Press75. I don’t know what the hype is about but I’ve seen a lot better with free WP theme providers. Their designs look plain and boring and they all look alike! I guess their designs are just not for my taste.

    “They are too expensive!”

I believe that there are products that can be priced reasonably and still be of high quality and high performance. The same belief goes for me for a WordPress theme.

In taking a look at the products and services that Press75 has to offer, I’m a bit confused as to why they sell their themes for $75. That’s quite an expensive price to put on something that’s not perfect. There are other themes that you can buy from other providers for a lesser price.

    “Keeping Up With The Competition”

With a myriad of premium templates as part of their offerings, press75 is working very hard to provide for their customers’ needs. Also, their unending quest to develop and improve their themes also keeps up with their customer’s evolving needs. You get a wp theme that’s always up-to-date.

One of the cons for this kind of minute innovation, though, is that selections are produced pretty slowly which means that they’re pretty limited when you’re buying themes from press75 with excellent features.
